Established in 1987 as PT Indochlor Prakarsa Industries, producing Caustic Soda. In 1996 Caustic Soda Plant acquired by PT. Sulfindo Adiusaha ("Sulfindo") and subsequently expanded into VCM business in joint venture with PT. Satomo Indovyl Monomer (“SIM”) and PVC business in joint venture with PT. Satomo Indovyl Polymer ("SIP"). To improve production chain efficiency among the plants, in April 2005, the two subsidiary companies were merged into Sulfindo as surviving company.

 

Currently, Sulfindo has annual production capacity of 320,000 DMT of Caustic Soda; 380,000 MT of EDC; 130,000 MT of VCM; and 110,000 MT of PVC with possible future capacity expansion continuously considered and realized along with the fast growing market demand both in domestic and overseas.

 

The company's main goal is to become one of the most prominent and world-class in Chlor-Alkali and Vinyl-Chloride producer in South East Asia. This has been proven with achievement of QMS ISO 9001:2015, Environment Management System ISO 14001:2015, Occupational Health & Safety Management System OHSAS 18001:2007, ISPS CODE, SNI, HALAL (from MUI), SMK3, and PROPER (from Ministry of Environment and Forestry).

 

To ensure the reliability and sustainability power supply, Sulfindo has established PT. Merak Energi Indonesia ("MEI"), a subsidiary company operating "2 x 60" MW coal-fired power generating plant which have started its operation since December 2013, with complementary of private coal unloading jetty.
